Pros:

1. Durable construction: The R109 R156 G-250 is made of high-quality materials, including a chrome-plated brass body and a balanced diaphragm first stage. This ensures that the regulator is both durable and resistant to corrosion.

2. Adjustable air demand lever: The regulator features an adjustable air demand lever, which allows divers to adjust the amount of air they receive for optimal breathing comfort.

3. Compact design: The R109 R156 G-250 is a compact regulator, making it easy to carry and transport.

4. Balanced second stage: The regulator's balanced second stage provides smooth and effortless breathing, even in challenging diving conditions.

5. Interchangeable hoses: The regulator comes with interchangeable hoses, making it easy to swap out hoses for different diving configurations.

Cons:

1. Price: The R109 R156 G-250 is a high-end regulator, and its price reflects its quality. It may be out of budget for some divers.

2. Requires regular maintenance: Like any high-quality scuba regulator, the R109 R156 G-250 requires regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance. This can add to the cost of ownership.

3. May be overkill for some divers: For recreational divers who only dive occasionally or in shallow waters, a less expensive regulator may be sufficient.

Conclusion:

While it may be expensive and require regular maintenance, its adjustable air demand lever, compact design, and balanced second stage make it a great choice for serious divers who demand the best performance from their equipment.

Recommendation:

If you are a serious scuba diver who values high-quality equipment and wants a regulator that can handle challenging diving conditions, the Scubapro Air Demand Lever R109 R156 G-250 is a great choice. However, if you are a recreational diver who only dives occasionally or in shallow waters, a less expensive regulator may be a better fit for your needs.

Details:

I did not change the clear diaphragm and will try swapping with my 250 to see if that changes anything. The listing for is ONE DEMAND LEVER. So maybe its the way diaphragm collapses under pressure. If the problem persists across poppets, chambers, levers and springs, then I m thinking its either diaphragm or lever hole in air tube.

Having Problems with your Adjustable SCUBAPRO Regulators. That is usually called the barrel. The popping reminds me of pushing on the lid a cookie can or tin, where it starts to deflect quietly and evenly with pressure, then pops into different position at some point. Then read the following: I have a 109 that has popping sensation when valve opens: its like step change in air delivery poppet reaches certain point.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?, SOLUTION: The problem is a small ridge indent in the surface against which lever feet work, inside what you call air tube. One of my oldest 109 also developed that problem. The new lever 11.250.141 with curvy feet does not cause the indent/ridge to develop, as during its action it rolls over brass surface, instead of just rotating on sharp edge old was doing. Or, maybe an edge of the lever is getting hung up on a burr in air tube.

It is caused by many years of work the old lever with feet having a sharp edge. The Demand lever is brand new and It priced to sell.
